This is our Shetland pony, the original from the Scotland Islands. He is a very typical pony breed and very popular in the United States. The Shetland is short and shaggy, but very strong and rugged. This pony makes a good match for small children because of its size. Silver is very handsome and has beautiful coloring. He is named "Silver" because of his long, flowing silver mane and tail, which frames his yummy chocolate coat. Silver was one of our rescue ponies. When he first came to live with us, he was very sick and thin. He needed a very long time and lots and lots of hay to get his strength back - almost a year! But now he is very happy.
